Description:

A dehydrated, densified cellulose fiber product specifically designed to absorb and bioremediate hydrocarbons, oil-based material, heavy metals, chlorides and other contaminates. Our proprietary product is engineered to be oleophilic and can be used on soil and hard surfaces.

Once the hydrocarbons are absorbed into the cell walls of EcoSponge™, the unwanted material is considered biodegradable. EcoSponge™ will absorb 6 to 8 times is volume in most absorption applications.

Application:

EcoSponge™ is utilized as an bioremediation, solidification, stabilization and absorbent product in virtually any industrial application. EcoSponge™ can be spread or added with soils or fluids that contain hydrocarbon and other contamination; the product immediately begins to encapsulate the unwanted contaminates. The hydrocarbons will be encapsulated within the cell walls of EcoSponge™.

EcoSponge™ naturally occurring microorganisms will immediately begin to break down the hydrocarbons. Once the contaminates are encapsulated, the unwanted material is then considered to be biodegradable and can be left on site or disposed of in most land fills. The product works on both soil and hard surface applications. EcoSponge™ is also able to absorb and encapsulate heavy metals from soils and liquids. The capillary action of EcoSponge™ reduces issues of leaching. EcoSponge ™ is designed to be custom manufactured to meet your specific sites requirements.

Recommended application:

Typical application is 1 part EcoSponge™ to 7 parts contaminated soil. EcoSponge™ can be partially rehydrated prior to mixing with contaminated soil.
